Cedar Park, Texas, October 14, 2007 - ETS-Lindgren announced the availability of Model 3145BDP, a dual linearly polarized, broadband antenna designed to operate over the frequency range of 100 MHz to 1.1 GHz. Manufactured of stainless steel, with a high resistance to oxidation and corrosion, it is ideal for prolonged outdoor use and harsh operating environments. For indoor use, an aluminum version is also available. Horizontal and vertical polarizations are easily accomplished with this flexible antenna and for added convenience, the base of the antenna features four mounting holes and two Type N connectors. The mounting holes may be used to mount the antenna to a tower or to user specific mounting requirements.
Dr. Vince Rodriguez, ETS-Lindgren's Senior Principal Antenna Design Engineer, commented on the antenna's unique performance, “The precise design of the feed and positioning of the elements on the boom yields optimum phase relationship. This causes the active region, at any given frequency, to propagate RF energy towards the smaller elements, leaving the elements behind it electrically inactive.” Further, he noted the antenna's state of the art technical features stating, “The constant gain of the antenna yields an antenna factor which varies linearly with frequency. The variation is smooth; therefore, accurate interpolation of performance between specified frequency points is simple. In short, this is a serious antenna for demanding engineers.”
The Model 3145BDP is calibrated at 10 meters per ANSI C63.5 at ETS-Lindgren's large ISO 17205 certified open area test site and A2LA-accredited lab - the industry's first for EMC. Actual antenna factors and a signed Certificate of Calibration Performance are included with the antenna. To document the performance of its antennas, ETS-Lindgren performs antenna pattern measurements from 400 MHz to 18 GHz.
