Course on Microwave Antenna Measurements Scheduled for May 10-13
CEDAR PARK, Texas, May 6, 2011 – The popular, annual short course on microwave antenna measurements at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) features Kefeng Liu, Director for RF Materials at ETS-Lindgren, as one of several expert lecturers from industry, academia and government. This year marks the sixth consecutive year Mr. Liu has shared his expertise by speaking on such topics as anechoic chambers, wireless testing and electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing.
Mr. Liu was invited to lecture having dedicated his industrial career to applying numerical electromagnetic computational methods to the analysis and design verification of RF absorbers and anechoic chambers as well as to the evaluation of low observable RF absorber performance from 10 MHz to 110 GHz. In addition, his practical experience involves the design and verification of many multi-million dollar projects for compact ranges, tapered far-field ranges, and EMC chambers with cutting-edge performance. Mr. Liu is responsible for the development of ETS-Lindgren's turnkey antenna and RCS measurement system solution packages and holds several patents.
The annual short course provides a quick and thorough review of the principles of state-of-the-art antenna measurement techniques. Organized by Dr. Doren Hess of MI Technologies and Dr. Yahya Rahmat-Samii of UCLA, the high quality course is well-known for its unique blend of theory and practical application content. The lecturers are recognized global experts in antenna measurements, including Professor Rahmat-Samii, UCLA’s Distinguished Lecturer and the Northrop-Grumman Chair in Electromagnetics, who have made important contributions to the development of modern antenna measurement techniques.
