GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Illinois, January 17, 2008- The Texas Center for Athletes is a $12 million, 133,000 square foot sports medicine complex recently built next to the San Antonio Spurs’ practice facility. The most technologically advanced sports medicine facility in South Texas, this 3-story medical treatment and research facility treats spine, foot, ankle, shoulder, and hand injuries. It also houses plastic surgery, sports dentistry and nutritional specialist professionals. “It is a one stop shop for athletes that can treat them from head to toe,” says Dr. David Schmidt, San Antonio Spurs team physician. Not only is the facility a one stop shop for athletes, it is meant to be the catalyst for more development in the area and the start of San Antonio's future in sports medicine.
Working with a quick turnaround time, ETS-Lindgren contributed its expertise to this state-of-the-art facility through the design and installation of an MRI medical suite. Key features of the suite include copper shielding, a cell type floor, a 3’x3’ RF window, and most notably, ETS-Lindgren's specialty – an MRI RF shielded door. This new, lightweight door, Model MRDS, builds upon ETS-Lindgren's 30+ year history of providing innovative shielded doors for its MRI facilities. The MRDS door is designed to provide a reliable, ergonomic and economic door solution. For more information, visit www.ets-lindgren.com/MRDS.
