Do You Know the Real Performance of Your Audiology Test Booth?

CEDAR PARK, Texas, October 11, 2010 – ETS-Lindgren can tell its customers the precise performance of the audiology booths it manufactures, thanks to the ability to test a fully assembled single wall control /double wall exam suite, completely inside of its large, state of the art reverberation chamber. The chamber is part of the company’s NVLAP-accredited Acoustic Research Laboratory (Lab Code 100286-0). Testing was done in accordance with industry standards ANSI S3.1 and ASTM E596-1999.

“Measurement of individual booth components is not a valid indication of overall booth performance. Only a certified noise reduction test of a fully assembled and functional booth is an accurate representation of the booth’s overall performance,” said Scott Dunlap, Inside Sales for ETS-Lindgren. “That is why we constructed an acoustic test chamber and tested our audiology booth as a fully assembled unit. We wanted to know the precise performance of the complete audiology test booth so we could share this information with clinicians and hearing health administrators to enable them to make an informed decision when considering the value of their sound booth purchase,” he added.

ETS-Lindgren’s audiology test booths are well known for their superior engineered design. Single and double wall booths are available in a wide range of standard sizes and may be custom designed to fit any application. Enhanced patient comfort features include improved ventilation to increase air flow between tests, a lower step up for easier access into the booth, an option for larger observation windows and windows in the doors - which are especially important for the treatment of children’s hearing health - as well as several color and finish choices. The recessed treatment of electrical and data distribution lines is a subtle but significant standard design feature.
