GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Illinois, December 17, 2007 - Automatic opening doors, patient soothing illuminated panels, and global services were just some of the innovations highlighted at the ETS-Lindgren booth during the recent 2008 RSNA Show in Chicago, Illinois.
Ben Turner, Vice President, Sales & Marketing for ETS-Lindgren, commented, “Doors are an important part of every MRI suite. Booth visitors were impressed with our Auto Seal II door that lets you bring patients into the MRI suite without stopping to tug on hard-to-open door handles. It's a must for high traffic operations and provides a better patient experience. And our Auto Seal doors have a high duty cycle, so maintenance is low.
He continued, “Patients often experience stress when they are confined inside an MRI chamber for any length of time. That's why our MedLux Graphic Panel Wall System is so popular with labs that use it. It creates a soothing visual environment of tranquil scenes - landscapes, seascapes – that calm the patients. Low wattage and thermally cool LED lighting means maintenance is minimal as well.”
The booth also included an introduction to some of ETS-Lindgren's many global services, such as Testing, Surveying, Diagnostics, Maintenance and Modeling. Visitors were eager to try the user-interactive equipment and software for Testing and Surveying services, which focused on Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and vibration type surveys.
The surveys in particular are a cost effective investment. “By conduct preliminary site investigation measurements of potential new locations of sensitive equipment, such as MRIs and Electron Microscopes, customers can evaluate data and learn if the image quality will be affected in any particular location. It's always better to find this out up front, before expending time and manpower on a site that will not yield the optimal performance results expected of this costly equipment,” said Turner.
