Now Available for CISPR 16 Chamber Characterization
CEDAR PARK, Texas, August 31, 2009 – ETS-Lindgren announced the availability of a new omnidirectional biconical antenna, Model 3183, designed for CISPR 16 chamber characterization. Notable features include a broadband frequency range of 1 GHz to 18 GHz and an omnidirectional radiation pattern, meaning the antenna can receive signals from every direction around its axis, in conformance with CISPR 16 specifications. Model 3183 also boasts the lowest possible VSWR across its range of operation with an average 2:1 VSWR. For added convenience, a weatherizing kit is included with the antenna for use outdoors.
“We designed this antenna to meet the need for a single transmit antenna to cover the 1 GHz to 18 GHz band specified in the CISPR 16 standard for chamber characterization above 1 GHz,” said Dr. Vince Rodriguez, ETS-Lindgren’s Senior Principal Antenna Design Engineer. He added, “It also complements our multiple-octave broadband antennas by adding a broadband omnidirectional model to our directional antenna models.”
Model 3183 is the newest addition to the Model 3180-3182 series of broadband “mini-bicon” antennas designed to cover the traditional frequency range of EMC measurements and most wireless bands worldwide, making these models ideal for surveying or spectrum monitoring applications. Models 3180-3183 feature a flexible mounting system to accommodate both the classic EMCO block mount and a rear “stinger” mount. The antennas are individually calibrated at 1 meter per SAE ARP 958 at ETS-Lindgren’s A2LA accredited lab. Actual Antenna Factors, a Signed Certificate of Calibration Conformance and a product manual are included with each shipment.
