ETS-Lindgren Introduces New System Solution: Easy Upgrade for Current Customers
Cedar Park, Texas – March 24, 2009 — ETS-Lindgren announced an integrated solution that lets wireless device manufacturers test their products for compliance with the CTIA – The Wireless Association®’s new requirement for over the air performance testing of Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) enabled mobile devices. With the upcoming release of the Version 3.0 of the CTIA’s Test Plan for Mobile Station Over the Air Performance, this requirement will become mandatory for certification testing at all CTIA authorized test laboratories (CATLs).
ETS-Lindgren's integrated solution expands the company’s AMS-8000 series of antenna measurement systems, which include a fully anechoic radio frequency (RF) test chamber equipped with device under test (DUT) positioning equipment, antennas, instrumentation, and test automation software. Version 1.07 of ETS-Lindgren's EMQuest™ EMQ-100 Antenna Measurement Software adds support for A-GPS and other Receive Signal Strength (RSS) based measurement methods. The system supports wireless communication test instrumentation from most leading suppliers including native support for A-GPS test equipment from Agilent Technologies and Spirent Communications, as well as other third party communication test equipment through the use of plug-in drivers.
ETS-Lindgren's over the air test systems are currently in use by over 80% of CATLs worldwide. Customers with existing AMS-8000 systems can easily upgrade to A-GPS test capability by adding options to their EMQuest EMQ-100 software, and upgrading existing or acquiring new, A-GPS test instrumentation.
