Cedar Park, Texas – July 13, 2009 - ETS-Lindgren announced the opening of a new 10 meter chamber at Intertek in Boxborough, Massachusetts. With the addition of this chamber at their existing facility, Intertek is the only commercial testing laboratory in New England to offer manufacturers a state-of-the-art, 10 meter EMC chamber for testing a wide variety of products and equipment for the medical, IT, telecom, automotive, military, and aerospace industries. As part of the multi-million dollar contract, ETS-Lindgren also relocated a 5 meter chamber from Intertek’s Littleton, Massachusetts facility to further expand the company's EMC testing capabilities.
The new 10 meter EMC chamber provides optimal 10 meter radiated emissions measurements in an ambient-free environment. This provides Intertek's customers with maximum accuracy, speed and lab capacity to get products tested on schedule and to market faster. The 5 meter EMC chamber is optimized for high field strength radiated immunity testing (up to 600 V/m) for the automotive, military and aerospace industries. The 10 and 5 meter chambers complement the existing two compact 3 meter radiated immunity chambers enabling Intertek to perform all commercial immunity and emissions tests alongside its existing electrical/electronic product safety testing laboratory.
“We're excited about having the new 10 meter chamber. Now we can obtain 10 meter data without having to pre-scan or sort through a sea of ambient signals. The test speed and accuracy of testing in a 10 meter chamber is just amazing,” said Bob Mitchell, one of Intertek's EMC Staff Engineers. “Plus, it was great working with ETS-Lindgren again on this new chamber requirement. They provided our 5 meter chamber as well so we were confident it would be a high quality chamber and exceed our expectations,” he added. ETS-Lindgren provided a complete 10 meter chamber with nominal dimensions of 63 ft long x 38 ft wide x 28 ft high (19 m x 12 m x 9 m). As a vertically integrated company, ETS-Lindgren manufactured and installed the shielded panels, RF absorber, fully automatic RF sliding door with nominal dimensions of 10 ft x 10 ft (3 m x 3 m), swinging RF personnel door, heavy duty turntable, digital CCTV system, antennas as well as related accessories such as power line filters, wave guide air vents, and connector panels.
