  • ETS-Lindgren Announces Technical Contributions to EMC+SIPI 2017
    CEDAR PARK, Texas, June 27, 2017 - ETS-Lindgren announced its technical contributions to the 2017 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Signal/Power Integrity (SI/PI) in Washington, DC. Symposium dates are August 7 to 11 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center located in nearby National Harbor, MD.   • ANSI C63® Announces New EMC Antenna Calibration Standard
    CEDAR PARK, Texas, June 5, 2017 – The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C63 Committee (on EMC) announced the recent publication of ANSI C63.5-2017 on May 8, 2017. The standard, titled “American National Standard for Electromagnetic Compatibility Radiated Emission Measurements in Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Control Calibration of Antennas (9 kHz to 40 GHz)”, was last published in 2006. Significant updates include clarification of methods for measurement of antenna symmetry and balance. New content was added on the Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of hybrid antennas, such as the ETS-Lindgren antenna Model 3142E, that was previously addressed in Annex N of C63.4-2014. All loop antennas from the IEEE Standard 291-1991 are now included in ANSI C63.5-2017; this is significant as the IEEE Standard 291 had been repealed. The new ANSI C63.5-2017 standard also includes a corrected equation for the Equivalent Capacitance Substitution Method (ECSM) to harmonize with the equations included in the current edition of CISPR 16-1-6.   • Expert Lecture Series on 5G Announced
    CEDAR PARK, Texas, May 3, 2017 – ETS-Lindgren announced a series of educational lectures created to inform wireless device designers and manufacturers about the latest developments in the test and measurement of fifth generation (5G) devices. As the industry moves towards 5G wireless networks, the use of advanced adaptive antenna system (AAS) techniques as well as the expected move to millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies will have an unprecedented impact on existing radio frequency (RF) test methodologies of wireless devices. While Over-the-Air (OTA) testing will face its own challenges in adapting to new 5G radios and mmWave devices, test techniques that traditionally relied on direct cabled connector access to the radio will now face a complete paradigm shift in the way testing must be performed. In the lecture series, ETS-Lindgren experts will introduce the implications of the new 5G radio, review these complex test challenges, and share potential solutions to some of the problems outlined. The lectures will be held at the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) related events in San Diego, Seattle, Seoul, and Washington DC over the coming months. In addition, Michael Foegelle, Director of Technology Development with ETS-Lindgren, will present “RF Measurement Challenges for Emerging 5G and Millimeter Wave Devices” during a webinar hosted by IEEE Spectrum Magazine on May 31 at 12 pm Eastern time.   • White House Approves 2017 National Defense Authorization Act
    CEDAR PARK, Texas, January 26, 2017 – On December 23, 2016, the White House signed the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which includes the complete language of H.R. 1073/S. 1846, Critical Infrastructure Protection Act (CIPA), that was awaiting a vote in the U.S. Senate. (More...)

  • ETS-Lindgren Announces Expanded Service Offerings in Europe
    CEDAR PARK, Texas – January 22, 2017 – Following the December 2015 opening of ETS-Lindgren’s European Service Center located in the Netherlands, the company announced the expansion of its service team to offer additional, essential services in Europe. The expanded team now offers Service Agreements for RF shielded chamber and door maintenance, chamber and component calibration, system training, software support, component repair, and emergency service – all designed to minimize and eliminate costly downtime experienced by a test lab when critical equipment is not functioning properly or worse, stops working. As a result, peak performance is ensured for EMC and wireless test labs. Service Agreements are customized to meet the specific objectives and optimal schedule of the test lab, while maintaining the traceability of measurements for all calibrations performed. (More...)

  • ETS-Lindgren Becomes First Approved Test System Supplier for New CTIA MIMO Over-the-Air Standard
    CEDAR PARK, Texas, January 18, 2017 – ETS-Lindgren has always been at the forefront of any new Over-the-Air (OTA) test requirements since the first adaptation of the CTIA Over-the-Air test plan. In 2002, ETS-Lindgren manufactured the world’s first CTIA Approved Test Laboratory (CATL). In 2016, CTIA introduced a next generation Over-the-Air test plan for Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) devices. In December 2016, ETS-Lindgren was included in the MIMO Authorized Equipment List as the first and only supplier that is able to provide a system level solution to conduct MIMO Over-the-Air measurements in accordance with the CTIA Test Plan for 2x2 Downlink MIMO and Transmit Diversity Over-the-Air Performance, Version 1.1. The list includes ETS-Lindgren’s Antenna Measurement System (AMS) Model AMS-8700 as well as the AMS-8900 Model Series. (More...)
