Unique Design Offers 30 MHz to 40 GHz Performance
CEDAR PARK, Texas, March 16, 2015 – ETS-Lindgren announced immediate availability of its new family of EMC absorber for test applications including the MIL-STD-461, ANSI C63.4, CISPR 16 and CISPR 25 standards. The volumetrically loaded polystyrene hybrid absorber, Models DSH-600H and DSH-1250 DuraSorbTM, are the latest evolution of ETS-Lindgren’s low profile, hybrid anechoic absorber technology. It combines the advantages of the company’s proven FerroSorb™ performance and physical properties of the PS Series absorbers. DuraSorb is constructed using substrates with rigid, closed cell foam, which are loaded volumetrically and uniformly throughout the absorber. The absorber features durable construction, non-hygroscopic design, and high performance over the 30 MHz to 40 GHz frequency range. In addition, environmentally friendly fire retardants make it extremely fire resistant. Ideal for 3 and 5 meter range chambers, Model DSH-600H is compact in size, with a 60 cm (23.6 in) height; each 60 cm x 60 cm (23.6 in x 23.6 in) standard piece consists of two wedge shaped pyramids. For 10 meter range chambers, Model DSH-1250H has a height of 125 cm (49.2 in), with each 60 cm x 60 cm (23.6 in x 23.6 in) standard piece consisting of one wedge shaped pyramid.
“The absorber was tested to show excellent reflectivity results,” said Zhong Chen, ETS-Lindgren’s Director, RF Engineering. “We found the DuraSorb design provides a smooth transition from free space impedance to the lossy ferrite tile base. As a result, high performance is guaranteed not only at the lower frequency band, but also at 1 GHz and above,” he added. As with all EMC absorber manufactured by ETS-Lindgren, DuraSorb is 100% factory tested before shipment.
