HEMP/IEMI Threats: Specifics on How to Protect Critical Infrastructure Systems

Noted Shielding Specialist Shares Expertise at October 15 Webinar

CEDAR PARK, Texas, October 8, 2014 - ETS-Lindgren’s Michael A. Caruso will present during the webinar “HEMP/ IEMI Threats: Specifics on How to Protect Critical Infrastructure Systems with Specialized Shielding.” This webinar will focus on how high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) and intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI) pose a serious threat to the operation of critical infrastructure systems – utilities, transportation, communication, etc. – which are dependent on susceptible electronic circuitry. Damage can be mitigated or eliminated with specialized shielding and point-of-entry systems incorporated in facility and equipment design.

Mr. Caruso will share his expertise on this increasingly important topic on Wednesday, October 15. As part of the new “EMC LIVE” – a practical, online event featuring webinars, roundtables, videos, and more - the complimentary webinar runs from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time). Click here to register to attend the webinar and receive access to Mr. Caruso’s presentation on demand.

During the webinar, specific examples will be provided including a recent electromagnetic pulse (EMP) shield installation for the control center for a large public utility company. The challenge to accommodate numerous entry points for MEP and HVAC requirements while maintaining shield integrity and pulse protection will be discussed.

Note Mr. Caruso will also participate in the “Roundtable: HEMP and IEMI Threats” with noted industry experts Dr. Bill Radasky, Dr. George Baker on October 15 from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm (Eastern Daylight Time). Click here to see an overview, speaker biographies and how to register.
