For state-of-the-art MRI door technology, ETS-Lindgren’s new EVO Series of MRI RF shielded doors are designed to provide reliable, low maintenance service for use in a rigorous MRI environment. To facilitate access into and out of the MRI suite, this manual door is equipped with an easy-open, lever-style handle. The low friction design makes it easy to open for MR technicians while the concealed seal design is aesthetically pleasing to patients. With a low profile, ADA compliant threshold, the door allows for effortless patient gurney transfers and easy cleaning, especially for surgical applications. But perhaps the most important feature of this new door is its acoustic performance with Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating choices of 28, 34, 40 and 44 (49 dB of sound reduction at frequencies of concern). Mr. Gilk is a certified MR Safety Officer, serves on the Board of the American Board of MR Safety (ABMRS), and is an outspoken proponent for evidence-based best practices for MR safety.
